THE CANDLE LIGHT

Philosophy is the sacred root of all sciences and the vital element for the advancement of humanity.

The love of wisdom holds the power to transform our most deeply rooted beliefs, challenge established systems, reexamine ethical dilemmas, and enrich our understanding of the world and our place within it.

May its light continue to guide the expansion of our consciousness, our commitment and devotion to education in every home, and the firm conviction that we can create freer and more dignified futures.

Why does it matter?

Cultivating a healthy use of reason allows us to engage with our deepest existential questions; those that shape our behavior and influence the decisions we make each day as individuals, ultimately impacting the development of our society.

We remain understanding of the demands of everyday life that have prevented us from continuing our intellectual growth, for it is precisely for these reasons that we must ask ourselves, ‘What can we do now?’

It is a fundamental human task to recognize the challenges we face in the modern era through dialogue, the interpretation of texts, freedom of thought, reflection, argumentation, and active action in human and social causes, in order to reclaim this long-forgotten discipline.

OUR PURPOSE

Develop critical thinking skills through the analysis of philosophical texts or perspectives posted weekly, links to informative videos, book recommendations, interactive forums, PDF handouts, and scheduled virtual group meetings to discuss, present, or share our individual reflections in a safe and educational environment.
Transform our limited free time into genuine curiosity, into an exploration of autonomy, and into more awakened minds that lead us to chart a new course regarding our place in the world.

"You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it, all the time."

Angela Davis

“For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.”

Aristotle

“Justice requires social arrangements that permit all to participate as peers in social life.”

Nancy Fraser
